  • This is a four-story commercial center that includes shops, fast food outlets, a bank, food market, etc, which after wide-ranging remodeling and restoration, first opened in October 1997. At the time, it was the largest shopping complex in Cuba. It is located on the site of an old agricultural market whose construction dates back to the late 1940s-early 1950s, and which operated as such approximately until the late 1960s. The shopping center preserved the original name of the former plaza, Plaza de Carlos III, as well as the architectural spiral design, which allows viewing the four floors from any point.
