The main attraction of this small park is an elegant life-size Carrara marble statue of engineer Francisco de Albear y Lara, sculpted in 1895 by Cuban artist José Vilalta de Saavedra. Albear dedicated the last 30 years of his life to his most important work, Havana’s aqueduct, still functioning, and which was awarded the Gold Medal for technical and aesthetic excellence at the Paris Exhibition in 1878.
