  • Mango Habana is a small low-key restaurant located just behind the Capitolio near to Parque Central. For the style of mom and pop places this is pretty decent with clear transparent prices outside, a straightforward menu and friendly staff. This seems more authentic than some of the more up-market gourmet places yet avoid treating you like an idiot tourist paying through the nose for rubbish at other ‘authentic places’.

The pizzas are huge and great value (3-5 CUC), and the fish, which we ate, was nicely presented and tasted good. Other dishes include your standard range of Cuban dishes and a good variety of meats simply prepared. They have a reasonable selection of drinks and a tasty flan for dessert.
