Best for: Luxury 5-star hotel at the edge of Old Havana. Great service, nice rooms, buzzing atmosphere and extensive facilities.
Worst for: Architecturally not to everyone’s taste. This is a large and busy place (even if well run).

  • Hotel Iberostar Parque Central is a luxury 5-star hotel within touching distance of the old town. Surrounded by numerous famous buildings, such as the Capitolio, The Garcia Lorca Theatre and the Museum of Modern Arts. Inside, the hotel is very welcoming, professional and comfortable and combines the elegance of colonial style with modern services (including the best wi-fi in town). It is strongly favored by repeat business visitors to Havana.

Although the fancy lobby and classily furnished rooms may lack the historical riches of the Habaguanex establishments, the ambience here is far from antiseptic.

There’s a small but excellent gym and the rooftop pool, which has fabulous views of the city, is a blessing during the hotter months, when swifts swoop down to drink the water as you swim and sup a fresh frozen daiquiri.

In 2009 the Parque Central opened an even swankier annex across Calle Virtudes, connected to the rest of the hotel by means of an underground tunnel. As well as state-of-the-art rooms, the addition include its own luxurious restaurant, cafe and reception area.

Room description The low-key, high-quality style of the rooms (ask for one overlooking the park; most have balconies) is defined by heavy wood furniture, earth tones and crystal stemware at the minibar.

Soundproof walls and double-glazing on the windows. Classic-style wooden furniture provides a very intimate ambience. Spacious bathrooms decorated in white, beige and green. Bath and a separate shower. King-sized or twin beds.

Large seating area. French windows provide excellent views of Paseo del Prado or Parque Central. Bedroom area separated from the seating area by wrought iron design, placed at right angles to the wall. Spacious bathrooms with double handbasin units in marble surrounds, and with bath and a separate shower. King-sized or twin beds.

Suites are generally located in the corners with the best views, very spacious and very comfortable with an exquisite decoration. They have a great living room with TV, a dining room; the dormitory is independent from the living room, separated by a door. The bed of the dormitory is King-size. The bath is luxurious, has double sink and top of marble, it counts in addition to the shower with a bathtub.

Location: Iberostar Parque Central Located in the heart of Old Havana with excellent location facing Parque Central, near Paseo del Prado, Capitolio Building and Old Havana.
