To call Habaneciendo a piano bar is somewhat akin to giving my local fish and chip restaurant a Michelin star. Located literally opposite Casa de Musica, Galliano this place that also serves food (not sure if this qualifies it as a restaurant) has a kind of slightly rough and ready hole in the wall type atmosphere punctuated by pounding reggaeton beats. Funnily enough the few times I have been there I have really enjoyed the place, it is what it is and does not pretend to be anything else. While they do not have quite the A list bands playing, even B list in Cuba is still good and the place is smaller and more intimate in a Cuban unplugged way. Monday night is predominantly frequented by hundreds of gay cliental.
