Barlovento is a Mediterranean themed restaurant opposite the popular El Sauce nightclub. ‘Pepín’ who, while a mechanical engineer by trade always had an affinity for the kitchen, opened this new paladar on March 12, 2011. As befits the nautical theme, it specialises in seafood paella, fish and other seafood. The chef is young and enthusiastic with the very non-Cuban name of Andy.
We have not yet eaten here but have heard pretty positive reports about the place and we understand that it has built up a regular clientele. This is a comfortable place that has relatively basic décor and seating, and if you are in the area and fancy a bite is a good option, but is probably not a destination restaurant at present.
