  • Al Medina (The City) opened in 1983 as a Middle Eastern restaurant housed inside a lovely 17th-century building, which was formerly a boys’ school. The menu features a large collection of dishes, grilled chicken and other staple Lebanese dishes including falafel and hummus.

This is not a bad place for Old Havana and it is good to have a change from the staple Creole/international fare. The courtyard is also very pleasant to eat in. How good is the food? It’s OK, not great.

Al Medina also includes two cafeterias–Shawarma and El Alféizar–a bar, a store and several salons, two of which are private rooms.
